Ghost Armor Screen Protector

Ok, I admit it. I was a skeptic about this Ghost Armor screen protector stand I saw at the mall.  I had a Zagg invisible shield on my wife's phone before, and frankly, I wasn't that impressed.

But I had tried a few screen protectors in the past, and wasn't happy with any of them.  I tried to cheap ones from ebay, they fell off too easily or it was too easy to trap dust under the protector, which then made the whole thing useless, b/c it was impossible to take the dust off.  Or they were cut the wrong size.

I even tried this more expensive one from Amazon called the "SGP STEINHEIL HTC Evo 4G Sprint Screen Protector".  I didn't like it b/c it was hazy and had a matte feel to it, and I could see pixelated rainbow dots.  Here's my review on that protector.

Anyways, I went to the mall the other day to get something, and I came by this Ghost Armor stand.  They said it was $20 for screen only and $35 for the whole EVO to protect. I only wanted screen protection, and I thought, heck, let me give it a try.

When the guy first put it on, and then put it in his dryer compartment, I was a little disappointed frankly. It had some streaks, and I could see some rainbow pixels from the spray liquid he used.

He assured me that if I just didn't put it in my pocket for about a day and didn't turn on the phone for the next 30 mins or so, that it would all turn out fine.  I doubted, but I followed his instructions.  And guess what?

It's perfect!  There's no dust under it, it's 100% clear, and I can't even tell that I have a protector on top of it.  The cut is also perfect as well.  Best $20 I spent.

There is a lifetime warranty on it, so if it ever goes wrong, I only pay the install fee of $5, but the protector is free for life.  You can order one yourself online at Ghost Armor.  But if you can, buy it at the mall.  For an extra $5, you get it professionally installed, so I would go for that.  It's a hassle to try to install these things yourself in a dust free environment.

I have no affiliation with this site by the way.

  1. Did your wife's Zag cover look like the peel of an orange?

  2. Yes, it did. This Ghost Armor shield is slightly like that, but not as much as the Zagg. I'm really loving this Ghost Armor so far! I keep forgetting I have it on the phone!

  3. My ghost armor doesn't have the orange peel look at all.... I mean it's crystal clear.... Love it. It doesn't compare to zagg and I have it on my Samsung vibrant.... Got the ghost armor for my sensation. My finger gliders across the screen perfect, better than the naked glass.

  4. I'm actually starting to see some results from letting my EVO bang around a bit w/ coins and keys. They look like small little indentations. I even have a minor scuff. The guy at the mall said I can get it replaced for $5, so maybe I'll do that. I'm slightly disappointed that this "military grade" stuff has such indentations and scuffs...

But overall still good enough for me.
