The Best EVO ROM, IMHO

I've tried a lot of ROMs for my previous HTC Hero, but only a couple of ROMs so far for the EVO:

• MIUI 2.2
• MikFroyo
• HTC Sense (Stock)

And to say there is a BEST ROM for any phone is almost impossible, b/c things such as looks are subjective, and also because ROMs and Kernels might behave differently on different EVOs due to the different hardware versions out there (I believe there are 3:  002, 003, 004).

But, strictly in terms of speed, battery life, and functionality, the Deck Gingerbread ROM is very impressive.  I've been using it prior to the 1.0 version that just came out today with the Tiamat 3.3.7 SBC kernel, and it's fantastic.

Here are the pros:

• Great battery life - about 15 hours on moderate usage.  I was getting about 7-8 on a Sense ROM.
• Almost ZERO lag - I've seen lag often with different ROMs, but this on is blazingly fast.
• 4G works!  

The only con I can see so far is that oddly, video records in .m4v format.  You can rename it to .mp4 to avoid weird playback issues on your PC/Mac, but other than that, the ROM behaves great.

Try it out yourself and taste the difference!

Oh, and one more thing.  I use SetCPU, with the smartass governor, set to 245/~1000MHZ.
