There are A LOT of batteries for sale on ebay, where you can buy a supposed 2000 mAh third-party battery on the cheap (usually shipped directly from China or Hong Kong) to replace your 1500 mAh stock one from HTC. And it's even advertised that you don't need a replacement cover, because the battery is the SAME SIZE as the stock!
How is this possible? Most people won't bother asking, and just buy them - after all, they're cheap!
But a person who actually had this question, Doug Simmons, wrote about it, and then he started conducting real life test, and found their party batteries to be - yes - NOT AS ADVERTISED! He's got the results up at www.batteryboss.org
So the lesson is, if it's too good to be true, it is. How often we miss this!
