Sprint's Coming Out with the Nexus S with 4G

Sprint has announced that they are coming out with their version of the Nexus S by Samsung with 4G with Android version 2.3 (aka Gingerbread). The original version does not have 4G.

Here's the announcement.

The release date is not certain, but they are saying Spring of 2011, which I take to be late April.

My wife is due for an upgrade, so I'm eying this one to see if this can replace her Hero.

I'm wary of a couple of things however.  I know that their Galaxy S line has had issues with GPS, so I'm concerned about how well that will work.

Secondly, the Nexus S for some reason does not have a notification LED light - maybe they were trying to be like the iPhone?  I don't get why this was not included.

The one great thing about this phone will be that its Android software will be directly updated by Google, with no redtape from Sprint or Samsung.
